Church leaders’ prison breakfast
Linda Sore, from Rugby Methodist Church Centre, was one of 26 Rugby church leaders who visited HMP Onley for a leaders’ breakfast. After the event she said: ‘This was my first visit to Onley Prison and I knew very little of how prisoners were supported both to return to the outside world and with their spiritual lives. I was very encouraged and impressed to hear about the Sycamore Tree Victim Awareness Course and its impact on those prisoners who have taken part, their willingness to share their thoughts and feelings, and that some have come to trust in God’s love. Equally the Alpha Course which gives prisoners the opportunity to ask questions about God and how he can be part of their lives. It was uplifting to hear the variety of courses prisoners could undertake to help prepare them for life after prison.’
